26/06/2020 Plans for inspection process during the Covid-19 pandemic – Tusla and DES inspection information
Tusla Early Years Inspectorate and the Department of Education and Skills Inspectorate provide an update on how they intend to work with services who are opening from June 29th onwards.
New documents and correspondence have been issued to services from the Tusla Inspectorate and the DES with important information regarding inspections. Tusla will be recommencing inspections during July, August and September. These inspections will have a specific Covid-19 focus. The documents at the links below also include the inspection protocol, the inspection tool kit and the pre inspection document request. These documents clearly set out what the inspectors will be looking at, as these inspections are different to those you experienced before. The Dept. of Education will not be resuming inspections in September and their circular is at the link below.
You will already be familiar with the extensive guidance and support material available to you through the First 5 Website. In addition to previous guidance issued (available on the DCYA and Tusla websites) and in order to assist providers, both Inspectorates have provided new documentation to explain their approach to inspections in the coming weeks and months.
