FREE workshop on ‘Open Ended Play and Sensory Play’ with guest speaker, Shannan Mulrooney from Maia Purposeful Play.

Roscommon County Childcare Committee would like to invite you to a FREE workshop on ‘Open Ended Play and Sensory Play’ with guest speaker, Shannan Mulrooney from Maia Purposeful Play. 

“Through this interactive and engaging session, childminders will actively partake in hands-on activities, immersing themselves in play and embracing the joy of incorporating loose parts. Childminders will be introduced to some theories behind loose parts and explore their significance in fostering cognitive, physical, and emotional development in young children. The workshop will use loose parts to show examples of “invitations to play” that cater to children’s diverse needs, interests and mixed age groups. Childminders can share their experiences, challenges, and successes while fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment. An information pack will be sent to childminders after the event, which includes photos of loose-part play in action and a summary of the topics covered on the day.”

This event takes place on Wednesday 29th November from 7pm to 9pm in Roscommon County Childcare Committee Office, Knock Road, Castlerea, F45 P959
Refreshments will be served, and each attendee will receive a free resource pack.
