The staff profiles of Roscommon County Childcare Committee are as follows:

Manager – Irene Cafferky

Irene CafferkyIrene Cafferky is Manager/County Childcare Coordinator of Roscommon County Childcare Committee with overall responsibility for the company and all support received by clients. Irene is involved in the successful granting of funding and completion of childcare projects throughout the County, working collaboratively with other agencies, securing support and resources for the provision of quality resources, overall strategic planning in relation to Early Childhood Care & Education for County Roscommon and input in to social policy that impacts childcare and all its stakeholders. Irene leads a multi disciplinary team in the delivery of national childcare programmes at local County Level. Irene represents the company on a county, regional and national basis and fosters a culture of advocating for children’s rights. Irene has a diploma in Community Development and a degree in Education from the National College of Ireland (NUIG), a Masters in Early Childhood Studies from Queens and Stranmillis University, Belfast and is a qualified Mediator who partakes in continuing professional development and reflective practice.

Administrator – Martina Towey

Martina Towey, Roscommon Childcare CommitteeMartina Towey is Administrator with Roscommon County Childcare Committee. Martina provides administrative and secretarial support to the RCCC Manager, Staff and Board of Roscommon County Childcare Committee. Martina has a Diploma in Business Studies, a Level 7 Certificate in Psychology from NUI Maynooth and is an IPASS Certified Payroll Technician.

Childcare Development Officers (CDO’s) 

The role of Childcare Development Officer is to assist the RCCC Manager in implementing the Roscommon County Childcare Committee’s (RCCC) Annual Local Implementation Plan/Statement of Work  through yearly assigned actions and to assist with the ongoing development of quality Early Childhood Care & Education services for  County Roscommon, including the implementation of Síolta and Aistear. The CDOs support all Early Childhood Care & Education services through local and national initiatives in line with Department of Children, Equality, Diversity, Integration and Youth affairs (DCEDIY) policy while providing a comprehensive support and advisory service to services and parents/families.

Childcare Development Officer – Sinead Mc Quaid

Sinead Mc Quaid is a Childcare Development Officer with Roscommon County Childcare Committee. Sinead has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Care and Education from Sligo Institute of Technology.

Childcare Development Officer – Áine Mannion

Áine Mannion is a Childcare Development Officer with Roscommon County Childcare Committee. Áine has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Care and Education and a Master of Arts in Leadership and Advocacy in the Early Years from Sligo Institute of Technology.

Childminding Development Officer

The role of Childminding Development Officer is to assist the RCCC Manager in implementing the Roscommon County Childcare Committee’s (RCCC) Annual Local Implementation Plan/Statement of Work  through yearly assigned actions and to assist with the ongoing development of quality Early Childhood Care & Education services for  County Roscommon, including the implementation of the National Action Plan for Childminders 2021-2028. The CMDO will support existing and potential childminders to deliver a high-quality early learning and care and/or school age service to meet the requirements of individual children, families and communities.

Childminding Development Officer & Project Officer-Thomas Mountney

Thomas Mountney is the Childminding Development Officer and Project Officer with Roscommon County Childcare Committee. Thomas has an honours degree in Early Childhood Education and Care from GMIT-Mayo, and is currently completing a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Studies In Stranmillis a college of Queen’s University.
