Monica Riordan has been missing since December 20th. Monica is described as being of average height, thin build and with shoulder length blonde hair. When last seen, Monica was wearing a long grey coat, dark jeans and grey or white trainers. Once again, Roscommon County Childcare Committee (RCCC) had a very successful Annual Early Childhood Care & Education Celebration Night with Minister for Children Frances Fitzgerald TD as they keynote speaker. The aim of this event was to acknowledge the place of the child and the importance of supporting the ongoing professionalism of the Early Childhood Care & Education Sector. The event also marked the 10th Anniversary of RCCC and the impact of government investment in the Early Childhood Care & Education sector over the past ten years. It acknowledge the Early Childhood Care & Education services who work on the ground to support children and families and together with all of the key stakeholders to keep the child on the agenda for future investment & support.

The Office of the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs has introduced a new childcare support scheme, the Childcare Employment & Training Support (CETS) scheme, from September 2010. The CETS scheme will support the childcare needs of participants in training and educational courses operated by FÁS and Vocational Education Committees (VECs).
